OPERATIONS MANAGER: NIBBLY

Paintbox is now hiring an Operations Manager to oversee the day to day functions of  it’s incubator client Nibbly. The ideal candidate for this role loves client service, is able to multi-task and switch between a variety of tasks daily. Paintbox is an organization committed to giving back to the community and supporting collaborations between local agencies and businesses. ABOUT THE POSITION

 

The Operations Manager will  successfully plan and manage daily tasks that contribute to a productive and well-organized work environment for all things related to Paintbox’s incubator client Nibbly. This role also entails providing prompt and professional service to customers, implementing daily control procedures and addressing maintenance and service  issues as they arise.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

OPERATIONS

 

  • Development and implementation of department control procedures to be used by all staff
  • Monitoring of daily Nibbly orders to ensure orders are picked, packed and delivered on time in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager
  • Liaise with Warehouse & Purchasing departments to ensure all products are stocked and sourced for daily grocery orders
  • Troubleshoot issues with orders related to delivery partners, inventory management and supply
  • Establish relationships with suppliers and retailers to continuously stock new and exciting products
  • Overseeing ordering of supplies needed for daily warehouse operations
  • Ensure cleanliness of facility, and proper separation of recycling, waste and compost by Maintenance team
  • Monitor product expiry dates in conjunction with purchasing to determine sale, donation and promotional opportunities
  • Management and troubleshooting of delivery partners and software while overseeing issues related to lost or mismanaged orders
  • Track and log equipment and venue deficiencies while taking appropriate action to resolve any issues that arise using approved service vendors
  • Conduct and/or attend on-site visits with regards to equipment or facility maintenance and upkeep
  • Participate in regular financial review sessions to ensure business is maintaining profitable operations
  • Develop new initiatives and promotional ideas to grow and maintain Nibbly customer base
  • Work with promotions and social media team to develop interesting content for social media and website

 

COVID RELATED DUTIES

 

  • Maintain a stocked supply of PPE materials and ensure that staff are following rules related to social distancing, wearing masks & gloves and regular sanitation of hands and surfaces
  • Ensure that appropriate signage is posted advising staff and visitors of proper protocols to follow
  • Maintain daily temperature check procedure for all staff and visitors to facility
  • Identify and determine solutions to issues as the arise with regards to COVID safety

 

STAFF

 

  • Monitor staff productivity and provide feedback, additional training or reprimands as required
  • Maintain and develop training procedures related to business operations
  • Ensure accuracy of clock in & out records for all staff
  • Meet and uphold all workplace health and safety protocols per WSIB standards for self and team
  • Provide leadership and direction to all staff with extra care and attention for trainees or those working through challenges
  • Identify areas for improvement that will boost staff morale and result in a better work environment
  • Abide by Paintbox zero tolerance harassment policies and lead by example to uphold our safe and inclusive workplace

 

OTHER

 

  • Participation in community and charitable events at Paintbox and offsite
  • Assist in development and implementation of ongoing wellness and department control procedures

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

 

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a venue or facility manager
  • Experience in foodservice and/or grocery an asset
  • Tech savvy and experienced using tablets, apps, and cloud-based programs
  • Must be a great team player, never afraid to get their hands dirty, who can also work with little supervision
  • Experience dealing with diverse communities and cultures required
  • Experience with inventory management and delivery logistics
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Absolute dedication to delivering the best client experience 100% of the time
  • Incredibly organized and detail oriented
  • Works well under stress and a great problem solver, especially on the spot!
  • Smart Serve Certified and Food Handlers Certificates are an asset

 

This is a full-time position scheduled primarily Monday to Friday with weekends and evenings required depending on the needs of the business.
